Day 7

Sunday night marks the beginning of Day 7 for Jack Bauer and company. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jack in action for more than two hours.

While the first four seasons of 24 were outstanding, seasons five and six were somewhat supbar. But if the 2-hour movie Redemption is any indication, this season could return the show to it’s former prominence.

Redemption proved to me once again that Jack is a badass who knows how to get things done.

I really hope it is a great sign of things to come because the show used to be one of the best. I don’t think it rivals Lost, but it’s hard to beat what I think is the best show on television - it could be the best ever. But 24 is up there, at least it once was.

And it could be great again. The producers and writers have had plenty of time to come up with a great story for this season. The last real episode aired in May, 2007, due to the writer’s strike. There shouldn’t be any crazy plot turns partway through that don’t make any sense. Again, they’ve had plenty of time, and hopefully they listened to some viewer feedback, much like the producers of Lost were able to do.

I have high hopes for this season of 24. I want to see Jack kick some ass, take some names, and save the world again.

Stumble it!
