The idea for Levy’s Mom started at work one night while having a casual conversation about blogging. DJL and I were talking about King Tom’s blog, part of DJL’s Blog-farm.

I said to DJL, “I’d love to have a blog. That would be a trip.”

DJL promptly responded with, “Yeah, Levy’s Mom dot Thejamootz dot Com.”

I laughed so hard about that, but it was perfect. I said, “Yeah, we should do that. That would be awesome.”

DJL agreed and thus Levy’s Mom - the website - was born.

As you should know by now, I have since moved off the blog-farm. I decided it would have to happen sometime, and instead of waiting until I had 800 posts, I would make the move when I only had a hundred-and-some-odd posts. It took some time, but The Original Dave is now up and running.

Now, you’re probably wondering what kind of person names a website Levy’s Mom. Let me first say that my beloved mother does occasionally read this site; She isn’t offended by anything on it, so you shouldn’t be either.

But back to me. I’m a newscast director at a CBS affiliate in central Ohio. I’m 29 years old, and grew up in the Greater Chicagoland Area.

I graduated from Maine East High School in Park Ridge, IL. While there I got the bug for broadcasting while taking Broadcasting I, II, and II again. There were only two levels of the class, so if you took it all four years you took II three times. Our teacher was very good about giving new and more difficult projects to the more experienced people in the class. He was also one of the two best teachers I ever had the pleasure of working with.

After high school, I matriculated at Ohio University where I earned a BSC in Video Production. You can view my resume here (I need to update that file, so stay tuned).
